Perimeter
Definition
Perimeter is the distance around a two dimensional shape, or the measurement of the distance around something; the length of the boundary. A perimeter is a path that surrounds a two-dimensional shape. The word comes from the Greek peri (around) and meter (measure).
Formulae for finding perimeter
Rectangle- 2(l+b)
where l is the length, b is the breadth
Square- 4a
where a is the length of one side
Equilateral Triangle- 3a
where a is the length of one side
Circle- 2πr/πd
where r is the radius of circle, d is the diameter(2r)
Any regular figure- n x s
where n is the no. of sides, s is the length of one side
Any figure- Sum of lengths of all sides
where l is the length, b is the breadth
Square- 4a
