Area of 2d figures
Definition
Area is the quantity that expresses the extent of a two-dimensional figure or shape in the plane.
Formula
Rectangle- lb
where l is the length of rectangle, b is the breadth of the rectangle
Square- a^2
where a is the length of one side
Equilateral Triangle- a^2 x √3/4
where a is the length of the side
Isosceles Triangle- b/4 x √4a^2-b^2
where a is the length of one of the equal sides, b is the other side
Triangle- √s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
where a, b and c are the sides of the triangle, s is half of the perimeter of the triangle
or
1/2 bh
where b is the base of triangle, h is the height
Parallelogram- bh
where b is the base, h is the perpendicular height between base and it's opposite side
Rhombus- 1/2 x d1 x d2
where d1 and d2 are the diagonals of the rhombus
Trapezium- 1/2h(a+b)
where h is the perpendicular height between the two parallel sides, a and b are the parallel sides
Circle- πr^2
where r is the radius
